He was the guardian of the nation, that dignified Quaid,
Who gave the homeland an enduring dream.
Azm-o-himmat ka paikar, woh mard-e-aahani,
Qaum ki taqdeer badli, baat us ne maani.
An embodiment of resolve and courage, that man of iron,
He changed the nation’s destiny, he made his point accepted.

Quaid tera ehsaan, hai ehsaan azeem,
Di hamein aazaadi, tu ne aye mard-e-kareem.
Quaid, your favor is a great favor,
You gave us freedom, O generous man.

Ik shakhs ne jagaaya, soi hui qaum ko,
Quaid-e-Azam naam hai, us mard-e-nek kho.
One person awakened a sleeping nation,
Quaid-e-Azam is the name of that man of good nature.

Tere usoolon pe chal kar, paayenge hum urooj,
Quaid teri qayaadat, thi sab se badi mauj.

Isi mein chhupi hai, qaum ki taraqqi ka nishaan.

Quaid tere dam se, Pakistan paainda.

Yahi hai kaamyaabi ka, sab se bada kaam.

Woh azm tera tha, faulaad se bhi sakht,
Jis ne banaaya hamein, aazaad-o-nek bakht.
That resolve of yours was harder than steel,

Quaid tere jaisa, na aaya na aayega,
Tera kirdaar qaum ko, hamesha yaad aayega.
No one like you, Quaid, has come, nor will come,

Tu ne hamein sikhaaya, sar utha kar jeena,

Quaid teri azmat ko, salaam karte hain,

Woh ik charaagh jala, toh raushni hui,
Quaid ki badaulat, yeh qaum bani.

Teri baseerat ne, raah dikhaai hamein,
Warna bhatakte rehte, andheron mein hamein.
Your foresight showed us the way,
Otherwise, we would have kept wandering in darkness.

Quaid ka har qaul, hikmat se bhara,
Qaum ke liye tha, ik dars-e-wafaa.

Woh mard-e-mujaahid, woh Quaid-e-Azam,
Jis ka naam rahega, hamesha qaayam.

Isi mein hai posheeda, qaum ka husool.

Quaid tere dam se, hai mulk ka naam.

Woh ek aawaaz thi, jo goonji har su,
Aazaadi ka naara, Quaid ne diya jo.

Teri soch buland, tera kirdaar azeem,
Quaid tu hai hamaara, rehbar-e-kareem.

Pakistan ka matlab kya, La ilaha illallah,
Quaid ne sikhaaya, yeh sabaq Wallah.
What is the meaning of Pakistan? There is no god but Allah,
The Quaid taught this lesson, by God.

Quaid tere khwaab ko, karenge hum poora,
Yeh ehd hai hamaara, na rahega adhoora.

Woh josh-o-walwala, woh azm-e-jawaan,
Quaid ne bhara tha, qaum ke har insaan.

Teri qayaadat mein thi, ik shaan-e-niraali,
Jis ne bana di qaum, sab se misaali.

Quaid tera naam, taareekh mein raqam hai,
Teri qurbaaniyon ka, kis ko nahin gham hai. (Here ‘gham’ means awareness/recognition)

Woh jazba-e-aazaadi, woh shauq-e-shahaadat,
Quaid ne dilaai, qaum ko yeh taaqat.

Quaid ki amaanat, yeh watan hamaara,
Is ki hifaazat karein, yeh farz hamaara.
The Quaid’s trust, this homeland of ours,
To protect it is our duty.

Woh ik sitaara tha, jo chamka aasmaan par,
Quaid ka naam raushan, hai har zabaan par.
He was a star that shone in the sky,
The Quaid’s name is bright on every tongue.

Quaid tumhein salaam, aye mohsin-e-millat,
Tumhaare dam se qaayam, hai yeh saltanat.
Salute to you, Quaid, O benefactor of the nation,
Because of you, this dominion (nation) is established.
