Qabar hai manzil, har ik insaan ki,
A’maal saath honge, yahi hai nishaani.
The grave is the destination of every human,
Deeds will be companions, this is the sign.
Do gaz zameen ka tukda, tera mera ghar,
Duniya ki haveli, reh jaayegi idhar.
A piece of land two yards long, your home and mine,
The world’s mansion will remain here.

Qabar ki tanhaai, badi hai bhayaanak,
Nek a’maal honge, tabhi toh amaanat. (Amaanat: trust/safety)
The loneliness of the grave is very frightening,
If good deeds are there, only then is there safety.

Mitti ka bistar, andheri hai raat,
Qabar mein saathi, sirf tere a’maalaat.
A bed of soil, the night is dark,
In the grave, companions are only your deeds.

Duniya hai dhoka, aakhirat hai sachaai,
Qabar mein milegi, har amal ki gawaahi.
The world is a deception, the hereafter is truth,
In the grave, testimony of every deed will be found.

Qabar pukaarti hai, har roz aye insaan,
Taiyaar ho jaa mujh mein, aane ko mehmaan.
The grave calls out every day, “O human,
Get ready to come into me as a guest.”

Shaan-o-shaukat sab, yaheen reh jaayegi,
Qabar mein toh bas, rooh hi jaayegi.
All grandeur and splendor will remain here,
Only the soul will go into the grave.

Qabar ka andhera, raushni ban jaaye,
Jo duniya mein neki, koi kar jaaye.
The darkness of the grave will become light,
If someone does good deeds in the world.

Maut barhaq hai, ik din hai aani,
Qabar ki taiyaari, kar le zindagaani.
Death is certain, it has to come one day,
Prepare for the grave during your lifetime.

Qabar ke sawaalaat, honge bade sakht,
Imaan ho kaamil, toh milega nek bakht.
The questions in the grave will be very tough,
If faith is perfect, then good fortune will be received.

Duniya ki raunaqein, qabar mein na hongi,
A’maal ki raushni, wahaan kaam aayegi.
The splendors of the world will not be in the grave,
The light of deeds will be useful there.

Qabar ka manzar, jab yaad aaye mujhe,
Duniya ki har shai, be-kaar lage mujhe.
When the scene of the grave comes to my mind,
Everything in the world seems useless to me.

Maal-o-daulat sab, yaheen chhoot jaayega,
Qabar mein toh bas, kafan hi saath aayega.
All wealth and riches will be left here,
Only the shroud will accompany to the grave.

Qabar mein raahat, ya azaab milega,
A’maal ka daftar, jab wahaan khulega.
Comfort or torment will be found in the grave,
When the register of deeds opens there.

Aye ghaafil insaan, qabar ko na bhool,
Yahaan boyega jo, wahaan kaatega phool (ya kaante).
O heedless human, do not forget the grave,
Whatever you sow here, you will reap flowers (or thorns) there.

Qabar ki wehshat se, Allah bachaaye,
Nek a’maal karne ki, taufeeq ataa farmaaye.
May Allah save from the terror of the grave,
May He grant the ability to do good deeds.

Qabar ki pehli raat, badi hai kathin,
Imaan ki daulat, ho saath toh aman.
The first night in the grave is very difficult,
If the wealth of faith is with you, then there is peace.

Qabar mein koi nahin, hoga tera yaar,
A’maal hi honge, tere ghamgusaar.
No one will be your friend in the grave,
Only deeds will be your comforters.

Duniya ki mohabbat, qabar mein na kaam aaye,
Allah ki mohabbat, wahaan najaat dilaaye.
Love of the world will not be useful in the grave,
Love of Allah will grant salvation there.

Qabar ki tangi se, panaah maango Rabb se,
Kushaada ho qabar teri, yeh dua hai sab se.
Seek refuge with God from the narrowness of the grave,
May your grave be spacious, this is everyone’s prayer.

Har saans hai qeemti, zaaya na kar ise,
Qabar ki taiyaari mein, laga de tu ise.
Every breath is precious, don’t waste it,
Engage it in preparing for the grave.

Qabar ka azaab, hai bahut shadeed,
Is se bachne ki, kar le tu ummeed (a’maal se).
The torment of the grave is very severe,
Hope to be saved from it (through deeds).

Oonche mahal tere, qabar mein na jaayenge,
Safed chaadar mein lipte, sabhi so jaayenge.
Your high palaces will not go into the grave,
Wrapped in a white shroud, everyone will sleep.

Qabar mein raushni, ho tere naseeb mein,
Jannat ka baagh bane, woh tere qareeb mein.
May light in the grave be your destiny,
May it become a garden of Paradise near you.

Qabar hai ik pul, aakhirat ki taraf,
Us paar jo hoga, wohi hai asal sharaf.
The grave is a bridge towards the hereafter,
Whatever is on the other side, that is true honor.

Duniya mein jo boya, qabar mein woh kaatega,
Achha ya bura, har koi wahaan chaatega. (Nateeja: will taste the consequence)
Whatever was sown in the world, will be reaped in the grave,
Good or bad, everyone will taste (the consequence) there.

Qabar ki deewaarein, hain tang-o-taareek,
A’maal-e-saaliha hon, toh banein woh rafeeq.
The walls of the grave are narrow and dark,
If righteous deeds are there, they become companions.

Maut se pehle kar le, tauba aye insaan,
Qabar mein warna hoga, bada pashemaan.
Repent before death, O human,
Otherwise, in the grave, there will be great regret.

Qabar ka khauf dil mein, zinda rakh hamesha,
Yeh khauf hi bachaayega, gunaahon se pesha. (Pesha: habit/practice)
Keep the fear of the grave alive in your heart always,
This fear itself will save from the habit of sins.

Jab qabar mein utrega, toh hoga akela,
Saath honge a’maal, ya hoga yeh maila (gunaahon ka).
When you descend into the grave, you will be alone,
Deeds will be with you, or this filth (of sins) will be.
